heh heh.. finally contemplating for so darn long.. finally gt a new phone. i would say its an aesthetic fone more than a functional fone. its nokia 7360. spend the whole noon scanning thru every corner of the singtel shop @ orchard... was undecided to get the sony ericsson k600i or nokia 7360, the eventual decision was mostly due to the price aspect more than anything else.. made quite a gd deal. paid S$138 for the 2yr plan, then gt a $75 for the trade in from the amk ah beng shop.. haha.. so its abt $70 for a brand new designer fone. haha. nt too bad

.. oh well.. fone aside, some after tots after attending things i never attended before. 1stly. nus prose (promotion for speaking standard english) competition. We, KR get 2nd, SH gt 3rd.. snigger snigger.. overall ($500 price money!!) . it was sweet. haha.. special mentions to anuja, desiree and melody.. gd job! hahah all yr1s frm eblk, so we are nt onli a sports blk, culture blk but also a academic excellence blk! ;) hahah. somehw we had the most number of supporters at the engin auditorium (can be heard from roars of cheers when the MC annouced the 1st runner up).. next is the JamX 2006, ya, i know i am a barbarian, which is why i didnt attended for the past 2 yrs. ha. but it was a amazing sensation when u can see abt 30-ish pple or so at the youth park, cheering on 'the rachels'.. super darn proud to be a kent ridgean... and apparently the mass of crowd felt we are the best performer on stage then.. the results shd be annouced right nw at the moments.. lets hear gd news frm them =) well, these are the things i've been left out, its great to be connected to kr in every aspect..

its weird also to how i would react to things too.. just todae just as my dad was clearing the extra paint from my hse, the 1st tot is 'lets bring to rag, they prob would find them useful..' then off i went to my grandma's place for spring cleaning.. blah blah.. and she gave me her handicraft works (ah ma is an expert for making hongbao lanterns!!!!) and i brought 2 to put them in the E BLK blk lifts. haha. amazing.. im nt acting, its genuinely generated emotions.

boy and gers. its wk3 nw, time for tutorials, get your bums off ur beds and start mugging k. conscious effort is necessary, nt last min mugging. still the same old saying, when u can see the sun, u shd be studying, more so for the appointment holders, those in jcrc, blkcomm and comm chairs. study hard n play hard. lets enjoy this sem like we never enjoy before. =)

As i was looking at my peeling nose, i realised i didnt noe much abt hw a perfect tan would look like, so i googled it and here goes. pls be careful of skin cancer my dear friends, tho now is the ihg season, do practise common sense and apply skin care pdts. ya, human lobster doesnt appeal at all. ;/

If you have the luxury of going on vacation this coming Spring Break, you may want to learn how to get the perfect tan and avoid getting fried to a crisp. If this happens, you can bet that the only thing you'll be doing during your vacation is watching the ocean water -- from the window of your hotel room.

With the risks involved in tanning today, there is no way to tan safely , but there are ways to tan relatively safely, and minimize the risks of sun exposure. The sun may be great and provide us with heat, but if you don't take the necessary precautions when tanning, then you're increasing your chances of the following risks (among many others):

-- Skin cancer -- Premature signs of aging, such as wrinkles, sun spots and sagging skin.-- Painful sunburns

Yes, yes, I know, these days we have to use protection for everything, from bedroom activities to outdoor fun. But that doesn't mean we still can't bask in the sun and look great.

So here are some ways to help you get that perfect tan, while minimizing the risk.
the great outdoorsIf you're tanning outside:

Wear sunscreen. Sunscreen is an absolute must. Would you go scuba diving without a mask? Sunscreen has an SPF factor, which is the number of times you're being protected by the sun's harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays (the strength of the barrier), while sunblock is a stronger shield that literally blocks you from most of the sun's UV rays. This means that sunscreen still allows you to get a tan; it just makes tanning more gradual and prevents you from burning.

Re-apply. You need to apply sunscreen approximately 20 minutes before going outside, and re-apply if you go into the water, even if your lotion is waterproof. Do not use baby oil. Baby oil is literally asking the sun to radiate your skin and fry you, and is the equivalent of having sex with a woman that has STDs without a condom. You will get charred (and probably have a very uncomfortable itch from the latter).

Do not get burned. Speaking of getting burned, people erroneously believe that a burn will fade away into a nice tan. This could not be more false. A burn will cause your skin to become all blistery and splotchy (since a sunburn means you have broken blood vessels), and your skin will just peel away to reveal the next layer.

Tips to avoid getting burned:

-- Avoid the sun's peak hours of the day (10 am to 4 pm)-- Cover up enough and avoid wearing dark colors-- Use sunscreen even in the water (water actually attracts the sun more)

Think gradual. The best attitude when it comes to tanning, is to think gradual. You will not get a great tan in one day, but you will after several days of being exposed to the sun. Don't overdo it

-- a human lobster doesn't look appealing to anyone.

first wk of sch wasnt entirely the best of the 3yrs i've been in nus. rather jerky feeling coz of different pple i see, different expectations.. nt feeling myself todae, kinda troubled by various issues.

it has been raining continuosly for almost 48hrs or almost 60hours since 4 days ago. and i tot when i come back to singapore, it wld be a sunny and humid singapore awaiting me.. =(

rain. the rain brought me fond memories, i have special affliations with rain. the raindrops dropping outside the parapet of my rm, the gustling of the wind thru the gaps of my windows, the lush greenery emphasized by the shiny reflection of raindrops.. and the comfort of hiding under the covers on my bed.

of coz, it was also the time for quiet moments together in the rm. time for reflection. time for sharing of life aims. time for adventure. time for body maintenance. time for work out. time for just pure disconnection from the outside world. its sorta of a timeout from reality.

well, only this time its different, im in solitary.

cant help but reminisce the old days. bitter sweet.

the first night at my new rm, happened to be mg's old rm. still a lingering smell of his overflowing saliva. abit weird coz its facing inside, means pple might be peeking at me while im changing or when i have a full blown boner. haha, oh well. met so many of my old buddies, saw celia, li dan, hall admin, prabs.. and so much more.. back again to sunny singapore, in the comfort of kr again.

was raining super heavily yest, raining cats and dogs in already an understatement liao, it was raining donkeys and buffalos. but tks to janice, ron, por who eased the moving in. the usual depacking, cleaning and arranging and stuff. was nothing fantastic.

but, when morning came, it was quite a surprised, i was greeted by chirping baby chicks. not women, but baby birds!.. ya, theres a bird's best just beneath the metal parapet. kinda sweet to be greeted by birds' chirping in the early morning. no wonder the older folks want to retire to the countryside to get close to nature. heh, now can jus ask my folks to come kr e616 to sleep.. the birds are in the comfort of the metal shieldings there shown above, come ard 8.15am u can see them feeding, haha, live show.

cny is coming, time to do some shopping. i did mine already, gt some gd deal at usa premium outlet, gt 2 top at topshop and 1 pair of levis from msia city plaza ($70 cheaper!!) . i wanna get my old tan back, going for a swim later if the weather permits.

feelings

i went back to nus today, for a game of hball and at the same visit my fella peers from my 2nd home. felt a number of different feelings todae.

1. feeling of brother and affliation. felt it when i first saw the handball gers, yanyan, yvon and the rest. dunno hw to describe, but seeminngly back to somewhere im comfortable with, you hanball, the courts, the src ground.. even the air smell so familiar.

2. feeling of 6-sixers and eguana spirit. met up wif hon, shyangzheng, xinyi, becky, mavis, ruiyi, the rest of the golden gers... felt like im a young aspiring young eguana all over again. jus felt realli close hearted and tender at the sight of them. these are the pple that left footprints onto me. their once amazing ihg feats inspired me till date n i think will be a lasting memory.

3. feeling of sportsmanship and comaradarie. wearing the kr blue asic ihg jerseys bring back the pride for me again, its the kr blue, its the kr hball blue that im wearing on that made me proud to be a handballer once again. to see all alumni and freshies wearing the kr blue jus send me the adrenaline.. its realli like the sea of 'blues' gathering from small streams and forming to a bigger lake, river, sea and then ocean.. sweet.. power of numbers.

4. feeling of loss and incapabilities. my left knee. undoubtly im nt the same me as last time. im still very passionate abt the same when i first started. but, this is the kind of physical constraint that is very much holding me back.. i so very much want to be part of the team again, but i noe i need to decide to go thru the surgury and fight back to fighting fit level for abt 8mths or so.

5. feeling of change in hall dynamics, wat defines it. its the people. wat made the people to change, its the hall's directions. a loop. people come n go, we live with it. legends continue to be an inspirational for all of us. somewhere, our predecessor always seems to be far more superior than us. like the prev hball team, the fella eblkers, the ex jcrc, blk commers, ex hall manager, old kr premises. is it realli the case? or isst people never embrace the changes for nw, kept choosing to remember the old sweet times, but forgt the old tough times.

6. feeling for an old lover. a total mixture of mixed feelings. a part of me cannt accept the fact that some guy would be waiting for his chance pounce on her, but a part of me tells me its time to be ignorant. now, i think it has mutate to an 'older bro shielding sis' feeling, i would jus wanna protect her from evil doers, dats all. no attachment kind.

7. feeling of brotherhood. met up with the marists bro at chomp chomp. no matter hw long we havent met each other, the connections are always there, marists bro always think in the same freq and these are the pple that grew up together with me. simply cant imagine life without them.

looking at my 0304 eblk blk foto brings me great memories again, time where i flourished at hball, get accquainted to blk, made the best eguana friends, stepped up for leadership post and become a better lover.

hall has indeed given me alot, but at the same time take away a fair portion. i see loads of my buddies left this place for various reasons, but i will stay becoz become i just feel for this place, a place where i feel every part of it as mine. i see my loss as a worthy gain.

lets end our nus life with a legendary history here.

singlehood

who says singlehood is easy. its tough, the decisions leading to it is even tougher. its bitter and piercing, but its time, i feel and we shdnt be wasting time to change our partner to the already ideal virtue figure based on our own standards.

life is cruel and harsh, beginning is also the end. time will heal. i hate heartbreaks and misery. i wan to live in etopia forever. fate brings 2 strangers to become colleagues, chance made them friends, chemisty made them lovers, acceptance made them partners, distrust made them apart, memories made them matured.

onward we go.
