cheers/jeers

yay, week 4 of normal school term. a gd 1/3 of our sem2 for 2005/06 almost gone. soon gone too would be the final yrs, also the bunch of pals leaving for sep as well. cant help it but felt the sense of loss already. can already imagine that the closer friends im having would be leaving me, but this is life, change is everywhere, change is constant.

been trying to connect to the old mood of supporting ihg games once again. i realised for the past yrs it was due to obligation of duties that i was there for the supporting. but this yr is slightly different, kinda felt it within oneself. i started to take notice of the number of yr2s and yr1s there for the supporting/cheering. i can count with 2 hands, smtimes maybe 1. this issue aside, i witness this particular moment - hball gers are having semis with our neighbour. the atmoshere was intense, scoreline was close, time is nearing. heat is building up.. neighbours starting their roaring cheers wave after wave and we were momentarily drown by them. immediately, questions such as 'where is the cheer leadering comm?' came out... in the end it was some yr2 who initate some encouraging cheer etc.

this qn hit me. muz u be part of cheerleading comm to cheer? even i cant bear to answer the qn coz i noe the answer is a flat 'no'. infact, i feel boldy everyone who went thru fwoc shd be able to do the job. more so for the jcrc, blk comm, fwocers and smu. even i am guilty of that. but why? i cannt find an answer. maybe homo sapians in general are like dat, selfish animals. we dont want to do more that what we are expected. for wat?

as per past ihgs, kr and neighbour are always full of issues. abt the godly sportsmanship, or rather the lack of it. each of us are always full of complains abt hw the other was crude, violent, uncough, rough, impulsive, rude and disgusting watsoever. i believe its always a 2-sided story. both are wrong in some ways or other. however, to a certain extend, i believe jeering & equivalent is essential for ihg. not that im promoting negative behaviour, but this can spice up a certain degree of identity and of coz creativity too. actually i felt the key issue of such jeering/unjust behaviour is due to incapable umpiring. a convincing and unbiased umpire would separate the winners from losers, control the crowd, enhance sportsmanship and display the true beauty of that particular sport.

take a closer look, jeers and cheers are resulted from unjust calls from empires and referees, not much of rivalry. ha, who knows we can be bro & sis halls in the future?

haha. camping over the wkend in hall, trying to collate 2 different projs by tonight. tired.

glowing cheeks.

being someone who doesnt play sports, i try to contribute towards ihg but cheering more. since i am so noisy usually anyway. i tink cheering is so impt la! i felt the lack of cheering this year, not to mention the this year's "puddle of blue" instead of sea of blue. i blame it on lack of jioing (smu or block comm's fault u decide)

i feel that a lot of ppl wanna cheer but paisey to take the lead. its up to us seniors to nudge each other and eh eh eh later we shout tgt ok.im glad 4 chao enthu seniors who try n start off the cheering. if we dont encourage the younger ones to learn 2 help cheering, the tradition will be lost.
