old trees

woke up early todae in prep for the site visit to botanic gardens todae. suppse to be part of the module to go to a 'green' building for environmentally friendlines assessment.. .so eventually we went to the conservation of botanic garden, client is URA (urban redevelopment authority) and builder some local bigshot co which i forgt its name.

went there and sit in their meeting. apparently this green building is sppse to be certified by BCA (building control authoriy) to achieve green mark (go ww.bca.gov.sg) award. this is some award that justify your awaremess to environment and conservation, buildability, sustainbility etc. its pretty interesting, go read up.

anyway, we sit in the formal meetng, sat thru the presentation which i tot was well presented, except for minor glitches here and there. overall i feel proud that i understood 70% of the terms and concepts used. looks like i realli gonna be in the CI (construction industry) for long. during the presentation, my eyes were scanning the personnels there, there were the engineers, clerks of works, architect, landscape archtect, heh, and i thing i found in thing in common, they are nt young, ie OLD. looks at least 10yrs of so in the biz.. heh, so theory proven, we need to slowly climb the ladder, construction ladder or corporate ladder, all the same. i did an analysis on the most successful cousins i had, the realli outstanding successful ones take 13yrs to get his own merz E-class.. hmm.. so i guess this is the normal path for us, graduates to be.

came back wanted to play tennis but darren was tied up in his lab, snooze ard in bed.. cldnt stand the heat, in the end went to guild hse for a swim.. haha.. i did a honfeng... appear confident and walaa.. swim/slack for a gd 45mins, gd sun, no crowd. felt happy and satisfied.

new resolutions
- start revising work
- healthy work out regime
- diligent in RP work
- be appreciate of parents
- be a super old tree that is so precious that even the new conservatory building in botanic garden has to detour to preserve it

the older it gets, the better it is?

very coincidental, both the chng sisters msg me the same msg earlier, they gave me a name - Bob, the builder .. dotsss..

the selling point of this conservation building - the GREEN PITCH ROOF.. as the name suggests, its pitch, green and its a roof. and plants are growing on top of a roof. cool ya
